ENMS Staff and Faculty

The Faculty and Staff at Elsinore Naval and Military School played an important as well as impactfull part of the time we all spent at ENMS. For some they helped shape our morals and values, and for others they were part of the authority  that took control of our lives. As for me they were always a bit of both.

They were Commandants, Assistant Commandants, Teachers, Superintendants and a multitude of other employees that, behind the scenes came in nearly daily contact with us all. We knew them from Junior School and Senior School. A few of us stayed in contact with them once we left ENMS. And at our 2002 Reunion, we got to shake their hands after so many years and reflect with them on so many memories. Some of these people that had us left in their charge, came to be more than their job discriptions, they became friends. Some went to extraordinary measures to shape and guide us, helping us to grow and mature in the absence of our parents.

This page is intended as a tribute to these special people that gave so selflessly of their lives and experiences for our benefit.

Taken from the 1960 ENMS Brochure

A short history of Col. G. R. Conklin and his Military school teken directly from the 1960 ENMS sales Brochure or a newspaper article, reporting this short biography is George Saxon. A more thorough biography of our Founder will be presented in a future page.

Major H. C. Marr and Mrs. Dorothy Long
The 1958 Yearbook lists Marr as a Captain on the Administration page and by 1962 had been promoted to Major and was now Vice President of ENMS. I have little information on Major Marr and at what time he became associated with the school and in what capacity, but I hopefully will garner more information soon and post it here. Mrs. Dorothy Long along with her husband Capt. Long were associated with ENMS from the very beginning in 1933. Again I don't have much information on Mrs. Long but I will search it out. She served as Superintendant of the Junior school at least from 1958 thru 1966.
